Do you tend to absorb other people’s energies? Is it a challenge at times to be around groups of people without feeling mentally, emotionally, or physically drained? Here is a simple visualization that you can use before or while encountering groups of people or situations that are likely to drain you.
Take three deep breaths. Take notice of your own energy, of the physical space that you occupy. Feel your feet connecting with the earth helping to ground and center you.
Imagine that you and your energy are a large boulder in the center of a stream. This boulder represents your energy and your personal space. The stream represents all of the energy around you that you may encounter directly and indirectly in each moment.
Feel the heft of that boulder – strong, earthy, solid. Visualize the water flowing around and over you, but not through you. Note that there is no significant resistance where the water and stone meet.
This stream carries everyone else’s thoughts, emotions, and energy. Whether these energies are directed at you, whether you attract them to you, or whether they are simply a part of your daily environment, no part of you is in no way attached to or affected by them. They simply wash around and over you, leaving you in your own energy.
See the sun shining brightly overhead. Feel the warm rays transmuting any residual energies. Feel your energy and your aura brightening and strengthening. Consciously emanate love and light in all directions.
Ultimately it is our choice as to how we react to the energies around us. We may not be able to help our immediate reaction but we can certainly change our thoughts about what is happening and as a result change how we experience life.
Take time to use the above visualization before you start your day and any time you are challenged by the energies around you.
Blessed Journeys
