A woman, who was very in tune with her Spirit Guides, felt the presence of a new guide one day. She was taught that it was important to test the accuracy of any guide she worked with. So she went into her study and turned on her desk lamp. She mentally asked the new guide “Is the lamp on?” The guide replied “No.” She was confused. She knew the lamp was on. Why would this new guide blatantly give her false information? She asked the guide why was the answer incorrect. The guide responded “You have 12 lamps in your home, which lamp are you asking about?”
It sometimes feels like we get partial or inaccurate information from our guides. Doing this work professionally for over 26 years and over 16 years full time continues to teach me much about the process of intuition and how it all works.
I’ve learned that ultimately anything we are told by our guides falls under two categories :
1. We can only be told what we are ready to know. Some of my clients start their session by saying “Tell me everything. Don’t hold back. I want to know whatever comes to you.” But sometimes they really aren’t ready to know what they think they need to know. And some people tell me quite the opposite. They say “Don’t tell me anything negative. I only want to hear positive messages.” Perhaps they are ready to know more than they think they are.
2. We can only be told what we are allowed to know. This one can be a bit trickier. Ultimately we are all spiritual beings who are here to work on our spiritual and karmic issues and challenges. We may think it will be helpful to know certain things in advance but there are times when having certain levels of information takes away from our learning and growth process. Sometimes we just have to experience some things on our own without knowing about them in advance. Think back on your life. How many times have you completely and accurately known of how something was going to be or go? Probably not many. We are here to learn and grow and I can only give information that will support that process.
So whether you go to a psychic / intuitive or are working with your own intution, take time to focus on what it is you really want to know. And why you want to know it. Will having the clarity you think you want add to or take away from your spiritual growth process?
I’ve learned that neither I nor my clients determine what it is that is important to know in a reading. Source, Spirit Guides, Animal Guides, Angels, and our Higher Selves do.
Wishing you patience, trust, and faith on your journey.
Blessings,
Matthew
